A junebug is a large beetle. The dictionary says that it is the maybeetle, which is interesting since around here they appear in April – soon to be March.

Yes and they actually come from grubs, which breed and infest your grass. If you notice a lot of holes in your lawn, then it’s because you have grubs and skunks and other animals are digging for them

What ever you do, do not get any June bug traps. Let your neighbors buy them and set them up. June bug traps attract bugs from all over the neighborhood.

hausof7mau: Ura was totally ficticious. Ima was named for a character in a novel and they never saw the connection until Jim (her father) was governor. Actually one of the few good ones in Texas history, although a lot of it was due to a strong Populist representation in the Lege – an even rarer phenomenom. Ima was equal to her brothers while growing up, including ostrich riding, and was one of the major funders of the arts in Houston. Non-Houstonians still miss her too.

Is that the kind of dialogue we can expect from this character? I’m starting to look forward to her being forgotten.
