Dean: What better time to read a great book together than during a black out? Heart: Read a book!? Hah! You're dreaming, pal! Dean: Ok, well, I'll see you later then... Dean: "In a hole in the ground there lived a hobbit..."
I read the entire series in my teens, enjoyed it but couldn’t bring myself to read it again. Tolkien was a great writer, but to be honest, he could spend a whole chapter on the subject crossing a field. I do wish I had kept the books, though, instead of loaning them out (and never returned) they were all retail first edition hard covers.
Dean brought a candle with him that is how he is reading the book.

Good practice for later in life, Heart. Sometimes, you have to let a man have his way in order to have companionship.

Would be interesting to see a dream sequence with Heart as Bilbo Baggins (both she and Bilbo are quite prissy about their appearances).

I’ve been re-reading The Hobbit, too, since I saw the movie!

Next best thing to audible, I suppose.
