Rhubarb pie does not have a lot of ingredients, and the sugar content is dependent on how sweet you want it(my recipe calls for 1-1/2 cups, but I rarely even put one whole cup).
So this is Heart as pretty much every college student the first time they try to cook something that doesn’t come out of a box.
I once got condensed milk and evaporated milk confused when using it as part of a meatloaf recipe my mother gave me. To this day, when I go shopping for the ingredients to make it, I look at the labels and say: “Okay, this is the one that comes as sweetened and unsweetened; I want the other one.”
For the money she wasted on ingredients for these failed attempts, she could have gone to an artisan bakery and bought an extra large, high-quality apple pie.
