I would imagine the royalties would be prohibitive. Play Peter Pan is public domain, the Wizard of Oz characters are public domain, although the stage adaptations probably aren’t yet. (Still would be cheaper than The Spongebob Musical.)
I figured this was coming. Bunch of middle schoolers given the option for a spongebob musical, their going to take it. Heck give a bunch of adults the same option and we’d take it.
I also like this angle for the Musical storyline: now Dana and Heart are firmly friends, if friendly rivals still, we have have them on the same page of disapointment. I also get the feeling part of why neither wanted Spongebob.. is it’s not their scene. The costumes are great, but it’s goofier and more heartfelt from what little I know about the musical. It’s my kind of musical, but not theirs.
Yes, and the radio station of my alma mater community college switched from alternative to boring old Contemporary Hit Radio in the middle of the school year. They didn’t ask me. I’m not a student there any more so my opinion doesn’t matter.
it could be that the people who voted against spongebob were equally divided between Peter Pan and the Wizard of oz so Sponge bob won even though it didn’t get 50% of the vote.

Is weed legal in Philadelphia? For the parents, I mean. I get the feeling they’re going to need it.

Have fun doing all that elaborate makeup and costuming on a grade school budget.

I think Heart could do a great job as Sandy Cheeks or even SpongeBob for that matter.

Guess the school has money to spend on paying royalties.
