Me thinks the Rev. is losing his grip. Jesus went to the cross to show us how we were to live. And, one of the main tenets of the church is that Jesus died for the sins of the world, including those of the losers and undesirables.
Having read the good book, I too was of the impression that Jesus hung out with the poor. I wish it was true of America today. The evangelicals love them some mega rich charlatan prosperity preachers who live in McMansions, drive Bentlys and have private jets.
I always thought that Jesus suffered because that was all part of God’s plan, that everything that happened to him was preordained. What choice (panel one) did he have in the whole business?

Sometimes I wonder why this character actually went into the ministry.

Ummm….that’s not exactly how Sister Theresa put it to us? I was under the impression that Jesus hung out with anyone who needed him.

Wait a minute. Jesus did hang out with undesirables and losers.

I’d really like to see the cartoonist explain this.
