I am a conservative, and I don’t believe in banning books. But I do believe in age appropriate books. Just like smoking or alcohol, certain books should be in an adult section of the library, off limits to children. Anything with an adult theme should not be in the hands of children, like sexual situations, sexual pictures, descriptions of sex. I was well into my teens before reading even westerns, which often had killings in them. In English classes, it wasn’t until high school before we read 1984 or Tom Sawyer.

“This world of ours… must avoid becoming a community of dreadful fear and hate, and be, instead, a proud confederation of mutual trust and respect.”
“A people that values its privileges above its principles soon loses both.”
“Farming looks mighty easy when your plow is a pencil and you’re a thousand miles from the corn field.”
“I hate war as only a soldier who has lived it can, only as one who has seen its brutality, its futility, its stupidity.”
“I think that people want peace so much that one of these days government had better get out of their way and let them have it.”
“If you want total security, go to prison. There you’re fed, clothed, given medical care and so on. The only thing lacking… is freedom.

Censorship shows that you don’t believe your point can stand against opposing views.
