I remember when one of the first jobs I applied for gave me an IQ test. When I mentioned it to the personnel officer, she gave me an odd look and said I was the first applicant who ever seemed to realize what it was, and she had been doing it for almost ten years.
Brings back a memory of how my sister used to lord it over me about how much better a student she was. I barely made it through high school since I was just there to play football and well, that’s also where all the girls were. Many years later, after a career in the Army and three college degrees, we met at our mom’s to go through family papers and found two envelopes with our names. She opened hers and with a big grin announced it was her I.Q. results from when we were kids and she scored a 137. I then opened mine and then handed it to her. I had scored a 146. I think if she thought she could kill me and get away with it, she would have.
