I got one that will likely top anyone! Went to an interview and no one told me that the lady I was interviewing with was trying to be a he. I certainly had no issues with that but a “heads-up” would have been nice. What’s really funny to me in this Herman is that SHE looked a lot like the interviewer in this cartoon…. ;-)
Reminds me of a guy I worked with who was clean-shaven when he was hired. After a little while he began growing a beard, and when I asked him about it, he told me he always wore a beard, but his father advised him to shave it off when going on the interview. Then he met our manager, who at the time was sporting a full beard himself.
Been there, done that… when I interviewed for my last job I showed up in a coat and tie. All the folks doing the interviewing were mostly in jeans and casual shirts (including t-shirts). That was the last time I wore a coat or a tie.
But then this is western Colorado and dress up is only for funeral directors and the like. At the time I was coming over from the Front Range where coat and tie weren’t quite so unusual.

I’ve been in this situation before. It’s always awkward when they’re your superiors and you consistently dress more neatly than them.

They both look like something the cat dragged in.
