I was nearly sent to Hawaii on short notice a few years back (nearly 5!)… sounds cool at first, but the conditions: 3 weeks on site, 1 week home rotation. We’d work in a client office, not near a beach, and we had restrictions on expenses. The time zone difference of 5 hours behind, the 3 week onsite requirement (no going home unti l), the inability to expense a lot of stuff, and the view each day being a generic office park just like those on the mainland made that assignment far less desirable… thank God it fell through and no one went…
