Do people still use wallpaper? I remember my dad doing the apartment walls with the stuff, but when we moved into a house around 1960, we did paint. I’ve been in a number of paint stores since then and haven’t seen them stocking wallpaper. Where would one even go to buy it?
Somebody has to do “wallpaper design.” I imagine there’s some sort of guidelines on how long you have to go on the rolls until the patterns replicate as well as some symmetry requirements left and right . I know from my photoshopping experiences how unnatural (and sometimes annoying that could look.
I wonder how many wallpaper designers there were in the United States in the 1940’s or 50’s as compared to today.
