What an invention: spark plugs to make an electric engine going !

One of the nice things about Teslas is that you don’t need spark plugs, oil, a radiator, etc.

I think he got off easy. I just had mine replaced, and the labor was about $450.00

When did Elon Musk first get mentioned in a ‘Herman’ strip? Has there been a previous instance?

I always thought this cartoon strip was really old, from 20 years ago at least. But it can’t be that old if it references Elon Musk… I’m puzzled.

around 40 years ago I worked on helicopters. We had our own machines and also did maintenance on others machines. When we were working on ours shop rate was $145 per hour. (I got $7) When we were working on someone else’s shop rate was $425. (I got $7) Can’t imagine what it would be today.

I don’t think it was Elon Musk. He makes about $413,000 per hour.

So, is Jim Unger really that ignorant about EV’s?

Assumption is not consumption – though assuming will usually get you in more trouble than consuming things will.

What makes you think Elon Musk has the first clue how to actually DO anything? (Not to mention the minor piddling detail that electric cars don’t have plugs, unless you mean charging ports…)

Have you ever looked for the location of the spark plugs on a modern car? If it’s a transverse-mounted engine, half of them are buried against the firewall. Even if it isn’t, there are so many covers and braces that you have to remove just to access anything.

I put brighter headlamps in my truck, and had to remove half of the front panels and the fender well liners to get the headlight assembly out to change the bulbs. If the factory bulbs weren’t so dim as to be useless, I would have given up and left it alone…

Got a good deal if labor was only $85, most shops charge more than that just for the paperwork.

Folks, EVs are getting better and cheaper and if we want our environment to improve, they’re part of the future.

Nor do you need gasoline. I haven’t used gasoline for ten years.

If Musk had changed your plugs, your bill would be $84,000,000, and the car still wouldn’t run.

Someone I know, who has $5 more than God, mentioned that he finally bought an EV. Of course, Mr. Ostentation couldn’t be satisfied with any old electric car. He had to buy a Spectre … a Rolls Royce Spectre – starting price $422,750 !!

With 141,200 sender-receiver functions, 7 kilometres of cabling, and over 25,000 sub-functions, it has a brain of its own able to process complex data and exchange detailed information … so what could possibly go wrong?

Yes EV batteries are EXPENSIVE!!! The latest figure I saw was for a Tesla C (a smaller battery than for the coupe) at $22,000. The owner said the heck with that and a Fiat for $18,000.
