tyr: The faeries gather their cleverest tale tellers together! And they dance across the magic rainbow into another world!! there, they perform fanciful acts of frnolity inside magic glass tubes!! hamhock: Tyr, that's not how television works... tyr: It's the only think that makes sense!!

My instructor for Radio and TV 125 described it in terms of “you got a little guy with a flashlight runnin’ around inside the tube.” The blanking pulse tells him to turn the flashlight off, beam deflection tells him to run across the screen, and so on.

If those are their cleverest tale tellers, why do we have ‘reality’ shows? Are the best reduced to slaving for the worst?

That can’t be how it works. He said cleverest storytellers.

His illustration broke down when he said, “cleverest tale-tellers”. The vast majority of what passes as television programing lacks the literary skill of a pre-schooler.
