Ralston would hate today then. December 11, 2009 Cap was going very old school using a view master. Today he’d be using one of those VR devices that are little more than overly complicated, overly priced stereoscope glasses. After seeing some videos on how to make them on YouTube I started thinking that’s what it was. Years ago I bought a “museum in a box” of American Civil War items, basically reproductions of things like telegrams, letters, a fashion catalog (yup, they had fashion catalogs back then, way better than what we have now), etc. that included stereoscope postcards and the stereoscope glasses. Found a few VR videos over the summer and tried them out with the glasses. And what do you know, the cheap, low tech glasses were doing exactly what the more expensive VR things do.
