Newsflash: not every woman, straight OR gay, is instantly ready to “make sex” with every stranger, no matter how attractive, who suddenly demands it.
Another news flash…. despite media portrayals and their own fantasies and even desires …. neither is every man.
In fact, neither may be “ready-to-go” at the drop of a hat, even with someone they’re actually attracted to, and desire, if it arises so unexpectedly.
Either may need to feel close to a prospective partner… or they may be nervous, like Jane… or shy, tired, or disinterested, or have their minds on work, or be romantically attached to someone else…. or a woman may societal pressure that says she’s not supposed to…. the list of reasons is very long.
Jane and Natasha haven’t even had a conversation, much less the almost-proverbial dinner-and-a-movie.
Meanwhile… the whole myth of women as shrinking from sexual encounters and men as biologically programmed sex machines leads both to think something is wrong with them if they differ from those stereotypes.
