Putin seems to be mis-estimating the cost and effort — and effects — of his invasion, ahem, I mean “Military operation” in Ukraine. And that mis-estimation surprises me. I thought he was smarter than that.
The Japanese called it ‘The Victory Disease’, in WW2. He’s gotten away with so much, for so long, he could no longer imagine anyone would still be willing to defy him… Especially! after his major coup of installing his personal puppet into the Oval Office for 4 years. And, like the Japanese of the time, and their confrere Unca Adolf in 1939 when he bet the Brits would not go to war over Poland- he’s discovering Reality can be a b***h.
With all the war crimes being perpetrated by Putin and his military machine against the people of Ukraine by the taking out of hospitals, parks and residential apartment buildings it may be necessary for NATO and/or its members to assume a more aggressive posture.
There are still those who think like Chamberlain did – “If we just let them do what they want then they’ll of course leave us alone…”
Just how well did that work out for them?
Ah, history! It’s a great teacher, if only folks would get their heads outta their tails and remember it, but that’s one great hulkin’ big “if” now, ain’t it?
Multiple reports say ‘’putin is seriously ill’’ ? It leads a panda to wonder, why did he feel the need to cause this trouble, now? He has to steal as much as he can, before death takes him. There’s no time for foolish behaviour.
And Ukrainian civilians will pay the price for his rage. I want him to live long enough to be charged with terrorism & war crimes. To see him shoved into the prison cell like he has put others, i.e. Brittney Griner and other hostages.

I think that Putin has already issued warnings about if they get too involved in this.
