All this hullabaloo about corrupt “justices” ignores the fact that the Senate isn’t even thinking about impeachment and removal. The rot goes all the way down.
they said just the plane ride was worth $100,000 back then. The trouble with tribbles comes to mind. Picture a tribble being born pregnant. Picture a tribble as a metaphor for corruption and bribery on the supreme court. They went from a couple of tribbles to multimillion of them in the course of a few days. Too bad we cant give the tribbles to the russians but they have their own tribble problem.
First of all, it was unethical for Alito to “respond” via WSJ to a yet-to-be -published article from ProPublica which sent him some questions.
Secondly, from the article “I had no obligation to recuse in any of the cases that ProPublica cites. First, even if I had been aware of Mr. Singer’s connection”. “I had no obligation” because SCOTUS needs to be under greater scrutiny. “if I had been aware” says that Alito does not know enough about cases and even if he isn’t impeached for accepting BRIBES, he should be impeached for incompetence. And Alito’s claim of “hospitality doesn’t need to be reported” is a complete pile of BS because the “gifts” went far beyond “hospitality”.
Third, the WSJ has sunk lower and lower under Murdoch. Funny that WSJ leaves this garbage op/ed out for public reading while most of their articles require a subscription.
Some department responsible for this type of fishing will have to start issuing permits. There are only four of the easily catchable red suckers left in the wading pool.
Buying politicians and judges has been legal since 1976 thanks to the republican majority on the Supreme Court. Unlimited dark money since 2010 has polluted everything, thanks to the republican majority.

It’s easy when they just jump willingly and gladly onto the hook.

Being Alito is not a native species of Alaska, Singer thinks he’s cleaning out the waters and should be awarded.

Does buying a fish count as going fishing?

Singer’s bait was an unoccupied seat on his private jet. It smelled fishy after Alito disembarked.

It’s really a sad state of affairs, but not to be unexpected from Federalist Society lackeys.

I pictured him sitting on the hook, singing a certain Mac Davis song.

Simply pathetic. Just one more example of how this country has fallen apart.
