Its my dada. He wants to speak with you.
about what?
I have no idea.
Knowing Walter, he's calling to bad mouth our president!
Why don't you call Obama and say it to him?!
Give me his number! I'll invite him to the theater!
I’m hoping it was not refering to Lincoln’s assination at Ford Theater. This not a tender funny view of a suggestion to murder Obama. There is enough violence in this world to suggest it in a so call family comic strip.
Maybe he was just calling them to invite them to the theater to see a play or a movie! I’m really hoping that is the case and not in reference to Lincoln’s…or anyone’s..assassination!
To all my readers who have speculated on a sudden dark twist in JumpStart, ….uh…no. This strip isn’t intended to be about Lincoln…or assassination….or death threats against Obama…just a theater-lover inviting his son-in law out to enjoy the performing arts. Wow, guys…WOW!
I’ve been misunderstood before, in life, and as a cartoonist..and I accept it with as much grace as possible. All artists are misunderstood in some way..but this threw me. I’m shaking my head in utter disbelief. The reader who first mentioned Ford Theater really ushered folk down a strange path of wild speculation.
[Year long tally: 28 Nonsensical : 252 Realistic] Thank you Robb for today’s realistic and funny comic!! ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++I admit reading this comic initially when first presented…. and the comments were really steering people down that path. I am very glad that erroneous path was put to rest! I did not comment earlier because I have been so utterly out of time with work issues right now that I haven’t had the opportunity until today.
