Have you met my friend, Doctor Appleby?
Not yet.
Ya know how your parents named you "Roger"?
well, his parents named him "Doctor"
Ok...nice to meet -
You'll be meeting him next Thursday. is 10:30 good for you?
I remember the days when you visited a doctor without an appointment. You just sat in the waiting room until it was your turn. The doctor I went to as a kid and when I was in my early 20’s, before I moved away, had his office on the first floor of an apartment building. You just walked in, sat in the chairs that was the parlor and waited. His office was what might be called the den and the exam room was just off of that. It was quiet, people respected the turn of others. Now you have to make an appointment and go to some office building and pay big bucks. I miss those early days.
cbrsarah: Back in the ’70s, I had a doctor like that. The waiting room was papered with peer-reviewed medical journal articles he wrote. But then that was under that “evil” Canadian medical plan that socialist Tommy Douglas (voted the greatest Canadian ever) dreamed up.
I met a guy whose real name was “Ticket taker at Yankee Stadium” MacPherson. He is the cousin of the girl known as “metro pass” Miller in NYC. How odd is that!!!

I’m sure his parents didn’t really name him Doctor…I thought that it was a nickname he developed because of his love of medicine
