Ive gathered some on line data about blue crabs. Technically, only the males have blue claws....the females have claws with red tips. There are 68.5 million adult female crabs in the Chesapeake.... carbs are not over fished! You nat eat Sammy, get out of my room.
Crabs may not be overfished (tho’ you’d get an argument from the MD and VA fisheries authorities); but right now they’re pretty danged expensive. Not enough in the bay that are big enough to keep right now. It’ll get better as summer goes on…at least, we hope it will.
