As I recall there was some question as to whether Ray’s father had actually died (check out the March 23 strip)… but he did have grey hair, and when last we saw him, he did look considerably older than this – and his hair had a magical ability to change color (Feb. 6 and Feb. 16). More likely – Ray is somehow imagining this interchange – Jumpstart characters have been talking to imagined others for a long time!
