My father fell in love with my mother in their first conversation. Both of my sisters married men where all four wanted to get married by the end of their first conversation (though in both cases their pastors made them wait until they knew each other a year before performing the ceremony). I loved my wife before our first conversation and she proposed to me three months in to our relationship. She asked me why I was waiting so long. Many of my married friends have said they knew they were going to marry the other person by the end of their first date. All have been married for a minimum of 20 years. Almost all of the couples I know who have been married for more than 20 years at least one person knew they wanted to marry the other before the end of the first date.
The ones that took years for both people to be convinced have ended in divorce within 10 years. Relationships with one holdout have gone both ways, some last, some don’t.

George bought the ticket. Most of us I think, assumed it was his mother.

Well I’m not part of the family, so I guess 5 minutes doesn’t count.

Who doesn’t know that quickly?

Love grows as lust fades. That explains both “love at first sight” and arranged marriages being successful.

Does anyone know what date this appeared in the strip? I would like to revisit Crunchy and Yolanda’s romance and how much Joe knew and when.
