We has a cat that would do something like this. We used to give him canned tuna as a treat. One day, we were at Costco in the tuna isle, and my wife said “Lets get Tommy some albacore tuna as a special treat”. Big mistake. Once he tasted the albacore, and you gave him the regular stuff, he would fluff his tail, arch his back, bring out his claws, and growl. A not-so-subtle hint that the regular tuna was not his preference anymore.
