    The next generation is getting paid back too. Social Security is solvent for the next 40 years or so, the next 75 with some very mild adjustments such as means-testing and gradually raising the retirement age as people (on average) live longer.

    And as we’ve seen, none of the “budget-hawk heroes” will dare touch it. Other than trying to goad their opponents into talking about Social Security cuts.

    ^ it was already declared insolvent meaning that more is going out that what is going in with no more reserves. Whether or not I will see any real reimbursement will be based on politicians actually caring and doing the right thing and using some wisdom. Sounds kinda crazy, I know.

    Gaunt, Can you imagine the size of the monthly check they would have to count.? Remember, after the bottom feeders, you get paid by what you put in. I watched a Social Security big wig explain this. There is no money advantage either way.
