Cuco: Illinois Republican congressman Aaron Shock quit over his taxpayer-funded spending spree. Eddie: Oh, the guy who had his office designed as the "Downton Abbey" red room and charged taxpayers for Katy Perry tickets and fake automobile mileage? I'm sure he can get a job as Columba Bush's personal shopper.

And yet Republicans claim to be the party of frugal spending. I guess that’s only if it’s spending on folks who actually need it.

But, but, the Democrats did it first!Or so I’m told by the trolls. I love it when they look to Democrats as role models, and then decry the behavior.

Interesting that so many folks here don’t seem concerned with the core issue of this strip, which is the extreme sense of personal entitlement those in power generally have. This sort of corruption undermines our democracy. Jesse Jackson Jr. went to jail for the same sort of thing, and he deserved to. But he and Schock are not alone in this, and it needs to be rooted out. And those roots are the presence of big money in politics.
