I am half Blackfoot on mom’s side. You can read of the contributions Native Americans made to the USA and the world.
“Indian Givers: How Native Americans Transformed the Worldby Jack Weatherford”. It costs about $11 on kindle or about $15 in paperback.
What happened in North and Central America was what you’d expect when an iron age (and gunpowder) civilization meets a paleolithic civilization. Not that the Indians wouldn’t have done the same thing if the roles were reversed. Most contact between differing tribes/Indian nations on North America were of the unfriendly sort and rape/massacres were the order of the day, along with torturing prisoners to death and/or enslaving them. You can also read “Hanta Yo” by Ruthe Beebe. There’s a reason the Blackfoot were called Dapiek Absaroka (Crow Killers), a name that was also shared with Liver Eating Johnson.
The original killer of indigenous peoples was diseases brought over by Europeans, unbeknownst to them. I suppose it would have been the same if Asians came over in the same numbers.

I’m amazed Santorum didn’t say the Indians should ask Trump how to run a casino . . . must have had some reservations on that topic. He’s pathetic.
