kab2rb, the number of comics a creator does varies greatly. Some just do a weekly comic. Others do daily. A handful of cartoonists have an absolutely insane work load, producing two syndicated comic strips on a daily basis.
I do three comics a week–Monday, Wednesday, Friday–for GoComics. (Plus, I do a monthly comic for Comic Buyer’s Guide.) On top of that, I create images for products such as greeting cards, fridge magnets, etc. (Some of which show up as comics here.)
I also do an occasional comic book story (Donald Duck or Uncle Scrooge) for Disney.
Plus, I also do a bit of advertising work when the right project comes my way.

So I keep pretty busy.
