Hey, Uncle Thevic, I’d love to have you come, but I have to say that–as much as I love the Portland show–it’s a smallish convention. I think about 1,400-1,600 people showed up last year.
I mention this because a lot of people assume that comic book shows are all like the monstrously large Comic-Con International in San Diego with huge crowds (125,000+) and lots of Hollywood celebrities.
The Portland show will mostly be people selling old (and not so old) comics along with a goodly number of writers and artists. No Hollywood stars that I know of. (Although there apparently will be quite a few people coming as Star Wars and other movie characters.)
No panels that I know of.
If that’s your idea of a good time (it is for me) then by all means come on up. I’d love to meet you.
