If someone is going to all the trouble of putting ink-on-paper, and then distributing it around to homes and newstands (I know…I know, not many of those anymore), it is in their own best interest to “get it right”. Lose credibility, lose subscribers. Well, that’s hoiw it used to work anyway…
Start printing lies and you end up selling your “newspaper” in checkout aisle 4…
I believe newspapers still play a crucial role in our society.
I know most people don’t read newspapers these days. But a very large percentage of the news you get from TV and online media is info that was first ferreted out by newspaper reporters. Then it’s quoted and commented on by TV & web sources.
(Most TV—-and almost all online—-news organizations just don’t have the budgets or the interest in doing substantial, investigative reporting. Newspapers still do far more investigative reporting than other media.)
Sorry to get on my soap box. I was a newspaper reporter many years ago. So , yeah. I have strong feelings about this.

Is there a limit on how many Twitter feeds you can follow? I don’t know because I don’t use it.

Worse than dead – they’re all owned by one or two major conglomerates.

I still read the on-line versions of the SF Chronicle, LA Times and Washington Post. Yeah, I tend to agree with those “liberal commie fake-news” rags.

For me it’s the NY Times and the Seattle PI. Between the two I get all the fits that are news to print… or something like that.
