Ah, dial-up. I remember well the times my teenagers knocked me offline when they rushed to phone their cohorts; once in particular as I was in the middle of trying to figure my taxes; that one had me giving them a lesson in creative and colorful language usage.
I met a remarkable woman while we were working at The Renaissance Pleasure Faire. We spent six weekends in constant friendly contact; she was engaged to be marry. On the last day, we said good-bye. I never thought I would see her again. I stopped at the first gas station to fill up. She appeared at my car window and told me she loved me, gave me her phone number and came to see me a week later. Hang in there.
