    Lio genes must be mostly from Granma’s side of the family.

    Gosh! Have we ever met Granma? Her side of the family clearly has contributed to Lio’s genes!

    EDIT: [And then I read ♠Lonewolf’s♠ post….]

    wndrwrthg - I remember what you’re talking about. My hubby liked to pull a similar stunt using a co-worker’s desk drawer. I’d forgotten about the prank you mentioned. I just might have to pull that one on my kids on April Fool’s Day this year.

    Wow Lio’s granma Rocks! But I think the genes that make lio so special must have missed the generation with lio’s dad

    Maybe Granma is his Mother’s mom. I would be that kind of Granma, if I had any grandkids, sigh….

    @R_Noonan63:

    Actually, Mark’s right on time - today (22 Feb) is GW’s BD.

    The “third Monday of February” stuff is the result of the politicians deciding to mash together Lincoln’s BD (12 Feb) with GW’s (they did this, what, thirty years ago?).

    We get one less day off, but it always makes for a long weekend, plus it’s less vexing to the “stars and bars” crowd…

    Hey, this strip reminds me of a short story by Bently Little called ‘The Washingtonians’ in his short story book ‘The Collection’.

    A very poor representation of the real George. He wore wooden false teeth and the type of white wig that aristocrats wore.

    By George, these new pop-out cards can take your breath away! –Especially if they include sound.

    I remember getting Lincoln’s and Washington’s birthdays off from school shortly after Valentines Day. I lived in Chicago, and it was a nice mid winter treat before the long slog to summer. I miss those days. Now I don’t even get president’s day off. I’m usually busier, in fact.

    Love me some Lio though.
