Now THAT’s taking advantage of opportunity, Dad…

Not really what horror hands are made for.

Tonight on Turner Classic Movies, “The Hands of Lio” (BW, silent, 1929). Comedy/Horror. On the day after the apparent death of his son in a fall from a ladder, a distraught father is menaced by the apparition of a ghostly pair of monstrous hands. Starring Stan Laurel as the father, Jackie Cooper as Lio, and Mary Ann Jackson as Eva Rose.

[I thought of Harold Lloyd as a possible casting for Dad, but the portrait of Laurel on Wikipedia convinced me he would have been perfect.]
