I used to carpool during the oil embargo of 1973. One guy insisted we stop at a florist on the way home so he could get his wife some flowers. He browbeat the other members of the carpool to buy some flowers for their wives. My wife’s first words as I walked into the house. “WHAT DID YOU DO!?”
He bought you roses! It doesn’t matter if they came from the florist, the grocery store or the gas station. He didn’t have to buy flowers at all. Can’t you appreciate thefact he did?
