Am I the only one who immediately thought of “My Dead Dog Rover” from Dr. Demento? There are some seriously messed up songs on “The Very Best of Dr. Demento” CD. I got it because of “Fish Heads”. The only other songs I knew from it were “Hello Muddah” & “They’re Coming to Take Me Away”. My jaw dropped at the lyrics on a few of the others. “Poisoning Pigeons in the Park” has such a lovely melody, but oy the words! When one of our local radio stations was doing an upgrade they played “They’re Coming to Take Me Away” non-stop for 48 hours!! They didn’t even do commercials!!
