When I took my next to last car to CarMax, my husband asked me what he thought they would offer. I said if they gave me a cold Mt. Dew, they had a deal! LOL Actually, I got the minimum $100. It had so much wrong with it – but the engine just wouldn’t quit. I thought I was going to have to beat it to death. Finally developed a major problem with the electrical system and was too expensive to repair and too critical to ignore. I also had a “clunk” sound that the car would make when I switched from R to D and from D to R. A friend of mine familiar with cars, said my torque converter was going bad. He advised me to just wait until it died as the cost would be the same whenever I got it fixed. It was still working 125,000 miles later when I traded it in. :o) I almost got it to 200,000 miles.
Carvana gave me $200 for my 11 year old Hyundai with 150,000+ miles on it. I smoked in it for ten years, wrecked it three times and the interior was shot. Nothing wrong with it mechanically, though. My husband thought I got a raw deal but I was happy they took it away (and delivered my new Hyundai) and I didn’t have to deal with selling it!
My first car was just like Lola’s, huge fins. It was a 1959 Dodge 2-door hardtop and was about 19 feet long. A beautiful car (in my estimation) and I thoroughly enjoyed it as I finally didn’t have to walk the 2.5 miles to school (then back home) every day.

Can’t trust those vending machines anyway.

These days a vending machine is probably more valuable than a car. You can’t go anywhere, but snacks are always welcome.

How much for a 1919 Ford Model T? One stick of chewing gum.

Actually, Lola’s car would be worth a lot as it is antique and a classic. Car collectors would love it with those fender fins.

Try taking it to “Shoe.” I can think of somebody in that strip who’d be interested.

It’s never how much they give you.. It’s the difference you pay for the new vehicle that counts.
