A coffee shop around the corner has closed after being in business for about 30 years. Property was sold, and new owner raised the rent to an astronomical level. Same story everywhere!!!
Two years later, and things are not improving very fast. Higher rent just closed a great BBQ restaurant that had just recovered from a kitchen fire. They were also having problems getting good meats. And one of their new smokers was still not in service. It seems like everything just piles up on small businesses.
