Base 12 makes far more sense. It’s divisable into much more convenient portions.

Count how many fingers the pirate on the left has.

With 10 fingers, we should count in base 11. For further thoughts, see here. (I wrote the paragraph about counting to 399 on two hands.)

Shouldn’t it be base 5 with a hook? That would be 5? in base 5 hook notation.

Judging by the drivers around here, we should all be using binary…. Either one finger or none, base two at its finest.

I believe chasm_b may be on to something……..
