My son does this for a living: setting the placement of mikes, lighting, sound, props and all the technical trappings that have to go on with a live stage production. It also means that he gets to supervise the “roadies” to schlep the equipment from truck to stage and back again.
We caught up with him at West Point Military Academy during the production of Jekyll and Hyde. He was telling us how smoothly the operation was going. He was very impressed with the crew was responding.
We told him, “They’re cadets. They’re used to taking orders!”
