The flat earth model works very well for about 99.9% of what I do. I do not have to take the curvature of the Earth into account when I mow the lawn, throw a ball or even drive to work.

It makes carpentry work a lot easier when I can lean on Pythagoras and Euclid to do the calculations rather than work with the more complicated formulas associated with Napier’s Right Spherical Triangles.

I also have no problem with Newtonian Physics. I usually stay well below the speed of light and stay away from black holes.
