OK, I’m back from Google…I get it now.

When to a new medical office building and was directed to pause seating. Guess waiting now is now too accurate to be said.

Ah yes, another day, another Samuel Beckett joke.

When an internist graduates from medical school, do they start as an intern internist? Waiting for applause….

I’ve heard of “Waiting for Godot,” but I have no idea what it is about. Is there a deeper meaning to the joke, or is just a play on the title?

“You can wait here in the sitting room, or you can sit here in the waiting room.”

“I really enjoy these visits, Dr. Godot.”

“Right Beckett ’cha.”

The patients ahead of you are Vladimir and Estragon.

“Waiting for Godot” is a famous absurdist play by Samuel Beckett (anyway, famous decades ago).

Two figures spend the entire play waiting for Godot, who has aspects of the mysterious, ineffable nature of God.

The “important” point for this gag is that (spoiler) Godot never arrives.

I know, pretty obscure for a waiting room gag.

In Soviet Russia, Godot waits for you.
