Luann by Greg Evans and Karen Evans for August 21, 1988
Transcript:
ba.by-sit.ter : a young person, usually a female teenager, who has total control over the social life of adults who have kids. Luann: Dad, can you drive me to the Hart's? I'm babysitting. Dad: Hart's? I thought you didn't like to sit there. Dad: Besides, didn't the Parkers already ask you to sit tonight? Luann: Yeah, but everything changed when the Harts got their new tv. Dad: Tv....? Luann: See, they had a puny 12 inch tv and the Parkers had a nice 12 inch. Then the Harts got a new 27 incher. Luann: But then the Parkers started buying magazines and popcorn for me. But the Hart's got a CD player. Then the Parkers installed an arcade video game which made the Harts buy a 700 watt stereo. Luann: Then the Parker's got a hot tub and a coke machine. But yesterday, the Hart's got a giant 70 inch tv. So I'm sitting for them tonight. Dad: I believe the competition for baby sitters is what keeps our economy going...
I’d go with the parkers, personally.
