Brad is strutting as he walks with Diane and shows off his new haircut. Diane asks, "So, do you like your new haircut, Brad?" Brad says, "Y'know, I really do. I feel totally carefree and relaxed and.." Brad's feelings change as he runs into his parents at the garage. Brad now adds, "-And uptight and nervous.." Nancy remarks, "Brad??"
He’s 17. They should not be thinking he needs their permission to cut his hair.
