TJ reveals, "Yeah, ok, I admit it. I never asked Diane out." Brad yells, "What?! TJ, this was all your deal!!" Luann asks, "You chickened out?" TJ answers, "Hardly. I just got to thinkin': 'Why am I takin' Brad's only hope? I should be helpin' the guy!' So I played along to make you ask Diane out." TJ continues, "Sure, she'll be disappointed that I backed off, but hey, I just couldn't dump on my best bud Bradley." Luann asks Brad, "Wanna borrow my boots?"
Or, from the start he was goading Brad into stepping up his game. Some excuses are better than others.
