As they sit on the couch and watch TV, Nancy asks Frank, "Why do you always control the remote?" Frank replies, "Because I know how it works." Nancy swipes the remote from Frank and says, "I know how it works. You push buttons." Frank smugly says, "Ok, but do you know which channel NBC is? Or Fox? Or PBS? Can you turn on the VCR? Make it record?" Nancy examines the remote and says, "Well, let's see.." Frank asks, "Do you know what the 'ABCD' buttons do? Or the 'jump' button? What about the 'mode' button?" Nancy replies, "Um.. I'm not sure.." Frank asks, "Can you switch from antenna to cable to auxiliary? Access the menu? Adjust the clock?" Nancy, annoyed, tosses the remote into Frank's lap. Nancy says, "This is why we need more female engineers." Frank holds the remote out and says, "Watch me turn on the CD player."
Well, she doesn’t know what those buttons do because she can never use the remote.
