Bernice says, "What!? Elwood asked you to marry him?" Delta says, "Wha'd you say?" Luann says, "I said, 'I'm 16! I have no interest in being married. To you or anyone else.'" Bernice says, "Good" Delta says ,"And that was the end of it?" Luann says, "Yup. He brought me home" Bernice says, "I can't believe that guy" Delta says, "Very odd" Luann says, "He did insist I keep this, though..."
Bernice has already forgotten that she had proposed to Zane to get marry. Compared to her Luann is more mature and reflexive, at least in situations like these.
