A manager that keeps a firefighter out of a restaurant should be reported to the main office for discipline and a good kick in the pants.

Maybe WW has a sign on the front door that says something to the effect that they reserve the right to refuse service…..and Ann is counting on enforcing that. Though I would think that’s a pretty flimsy argument.

If she was going to say that as manager she can arbitrarily ban someone from the restaurant. She has a head filled with sawdust! If Ann does make a complaint to the fire department. She will be really stupid. I’m quite sure that Toni is probably well liked there. Not only by her fellow firefighters but also her captain. Phone calls could be made and suddenly WeenieWorld will have more inspectors flocking to it than flies on dog poop!

@ Bikenboatn. Even if such a sign exists. Historically, lawsuits have proved that they are worthless. Just like the disclaimers that they put on the back of valet parking receipts.

I know Ann is not liking this at all – being talked down. She will release her claws and Toni will be ready. Some of you think TJ is lurking somewhere filming….I doubt it. Toni wouldn’t bring herself to that level. TJ was merely giving Toni the push she needed to confront Ann and now she is doing it.

Toni, didn’t let Ann finish her statement. As manager she can refuse service to anyone at any time for any reason. Refusing to allow her into the resturaunt is a matter I’m not certain of. And as she is a firefighter, Ann may not be able to keep her out. She may even be able to inspect areas of the resturaunt, unwarrented, any time she wants. This includes, while in uniform, just strolling into Anns office.

On August 5th, when Eiffel asks Brad who he was talking to, he answers “a fellow firefighter” or something like that, so Eiffel does know she’s a firefighter, she evens mentions that he has to prove he’s loyal to WW, and that hanging out with ex-colleagues doesn’t help his case (AKA Toni).

Has anyone else noticed the change to Brad’s face since he was let go from the fire department?

He really is drawn much more as a little boy, much less as a grown man.

His personality has retrogressed as well.

Frankly, he has “weakling” and “victim” written all over him! He’s become so annoying that I don’t know what Toni sees in him anymore.

Maybe the Weenie in WeenieWorld refers to HIM.

Also, this whole mess is Toni’s fault.

Brad wanted to get married a long time ago, and she has always put him off….

    Side note:

A couple years ago, LuAnn (remember her?) learned to drive and even got a car. But this seems to have vanished into the mists of time….

A private business is not a public place. A manager or owner can ban anyone they want from their store. WW is no different. Might it come back to bite them in the butt? Sure, but they have that choice whether you like it or not.

Toni sounds like the unstable, jealous girlfriend, and Ann can— at this point— plausibly deny and “designs” on Brad. If I was a manager, and someone’s gf/bf talked to me like that, I’d fire them. And before you go all “wrongful discharge” on me, Brad is almost certainly an at-will employee, meaning he can be fired at any time, for any reason or even no reason— as long as its not discriminatory.

What’s wrong with this, is that Ann has not yet done anything specific with Brad, so Toni is a bit premature in her threat. It will also give Ann the impression that Brad has been squealing to Toni., since Toni has not personally witnessed any of Ann’s seduction of Brad.

The last panel could be bad for Brad. Brad said nothing about Ann’s seductive behavior. Probably because he is a little too dense to comprehend it’s delivery. Toni shows that she suspects. Ann will draw her own conclusions. Or perhaps she’ll shoot back at Toni that she has no interest; has not laid a hand on; or maybe even “From 9-5 he’s mine, Dear.” Tomorrow is Friday. I doubt we can we wrap this up in two days? I’d like to know if Tiff got the part as Zeye. But we still have to cover Brads reaction to Toni’s actions, and then Anns actions toward Brad. Maybe she’ll turn up the heat and press her luck.

I may be missing something, but the whole sexual harassment or Ann Eiffel’s attraction angle for Brad has never been shown. From what I can recall, she’s never touched him or made any suggestive remarks, so if this is the motivation, it’s all in our heads.

I thought the better solution for the Brad/Ann problem is for TJ to rock her world. A little cougar action would spice it up. If she was getting some, er, attention, she’d calm down. On the other hand, we’ve never seen TJ with a woman, so maybe down the line, we’ll see him come out of the closet.

I also think Toni could put the word to the fire inspector (or have her boss do it). The guys really liked Brad and would not want to see him being misused. I think Toni is too much the lady to start a physical fight, even tho she would win with her training and the gear she deals with regularly (which weigh more than anything Ann ever touches)

Also Toni’s response to Ann is really making a mountain out of a mole hill and sounds really dumb. Who in their right mind cares to be in a fast food restaurant for that long just to hang around? What’s she gonna to do, play around in the filthy kiddy playhouse? I gotta say this just sounds like something a person on Jerry Springer would get bent out of shape over.

“Weenie World is private property. Any business can refuse service to anyone they wish.”

No, it can’t. It’s a comforting myth that a “private” company can make business decisions like you would in your home, but it’s not true.

Again, a “private property” restaurant is also a public accomodation, and as such, it’s subject to equal protection and anti-discrimination laws – “private property” doesn’t provide for unjustified refusal of service. The courts don’t allow restaurants to deny serfvice for arbitrary reasons, and Toni being Brad’s gf is an arbitrary reason. Refusal of service is only allowed if the customer’s presence in the restaurant detracts from the safety, welfare, and well-being of other patrons and the restaurant itself.

Check out the Denny’s lawsuits if you think restaurants can show preferential treatment to anyone without legal repercussions.

If Toni were to bring the wrath of the code inspector’s office down on Weenie World, Brad would be out of a job along with the rest of the employees.”

You’re also assuming, along with others, that WW is somehow in egregious violation of extensive fire codes and the new manager would be held accountable for a structure that she didn’t build, rather than it being a problem at HQ level.

In the real world, unless it pertains to no exit doors, sparking electricals or massive overcrowding, code violations don’t automatically shutter a business and lay off every employee – businesses may be fined, but they’re allowed to address and fix the violations.
