Luann is not ugly. She a very normal teenaged girl, and frankly the past couple of years she’s grown up a lot.

However, Bernice may be right ( and I’m not necessarily going to concede that point), she is being remarkably unkind. In fact, what I’ve noticed over the past couple of years is that while Luann has become kinder and more considerate of others, Bernice has not, and a number of time recently I’ve wondered why Luann still hangs out with her. They’ve been friends for a long time, but Bernice is not nice.

So Luann reads her magazines on a tablet and Bernice reads the hard copy. Luann, like most teen girls, has IT all, but she just doesn’t get IT!

Such a pity that so many people, like Luann, lack perspective. There are, what, 7 billion people in the world? The handful who have fame and glory are statistically unimportant. I have sometimes envied the millions of dollars that celebrities earn as easily as I can breathe, but I’ll never envy their unstable lives.

Two wonderful “It Girls” from years ago: Chloe Sevigny and Sarah Polley. Both still in the biz and very creative.

There are worse role models than Taylor Swift, but not many. I would never want a daughter looking up to her. .She’s going through the exact same stuff most young women do, which easily explains her popularity. However, instead of keeping her HORRIBLE victimized woe-is-me poetry and breakup songs where they belong, in a journal, she’s decided it’s easier to put three chords to them rather than coming up with deeper material. (After all, “Wah love is HARDDDD” is extremely low-lying fruit in the songwriting world.).She makes an easy living off of making stupid mistakes, and then blaming others for those mistakes in song form. Then she seems baffled when people don’t love her unconditionally. Absolutely can’t STAND her.
