Luann by Greg Evans and Karen Evans for April 30, 2013
Transcript:
Delta: "This road trip's gonna be SO fun! Look! I brought mini-donuts!" Bernice: "Yum! And I've got my resume, notepad, map, phone and charger. We're SET!" Delta: "You know what's great? No Luann!" Bernice: "That's why it feels so peaceful!" Delta: "Yeah, no drama!" Bernice: "For once!" *dong*
Not that it matters to Mr. Evans, but he just lost a constant reader of this strip. I actually found Luann to be a fun character, someone who was beginning to grow up by taking on responsibilities like taking care of a child who is her brother’s girlfriend’s charge, not hers; keeping old friends like Delta, who constantly guilts others into ‘good works’ and then doesn’t do any of the actual work herself while taking credit for it – but still immature enough to keep falling in love with less than realistic guys.
To see that Evans actually has the so-called best friends putting Luann down leaves me with nothing but a bad taste in my mouth. Evans is probably the person who keeps posting that the comic’s name should be changed to Brad and Toni.
