Well, Knute said “we” picked it, so I assume it was something Gunther had a hand in choosing. And it had to clash in the most garish fashion with his dark clothes for the sight gag to work. It’d probably be okay if he wore it without the shirt, slacks, and shoes.

I barely have words but WHAT does Rosa see in him? I mean they could be buddies as they are both smart but why bother holding hands or dancing with her if you are so shy you can’t even try on bathing trunks in front of another Dude? Geesh!

Gunth – Are you applying for a job at the “Scotch Tape” store? Seriously? (recalling the SNL mall Skit) :-)

Also, be careful of the size… what fit you around the waist originally with clothes on, may be too big when you’re wearing it for real! Might make for a nasty little “wardrobe malfunction” at just the wrong time!

Even with the pants and shirt off, the trunks would still beugly!

Good grief, Gunther! You have to go into the men’s room, into a locked stall, to try on an ugly bathing suit over your clothes?! You have issues, dude! And please, please, please don’t buy that godawful suit unless as a present for Knute the Screwloose!

The Evanses want us to perceive Gunther as “adorkable”, namely cute and endearing in his social awkwardness. They want us to think that he is a gem under that clumsy exterior, and the right woman (Rosa) could bring his innate charm to external fruition. Wrong, wrong, wrong. Gunther is a dork all the way to his marrow. He belongs in that basement where he lives, communicating primarily with his Mom, and it is a waste of time to try to force him to become something that he is not. Sometimes an ugly duckling just grows up to be a very ugly duck, and that’s our Gunther. Drop him like a lead brick, Rosa, and move on with your life.

Haven’t you guys been to the beach lately? Those look pretty tame. . . just sayin’

G-man, check with Rosa!*The G-man never takes off his shirt, so his chest is going to be a blindening white (maybe a few brown hairs). So Knute will recommend a bottle tan, which turns him orange.

This is ridiculous, so what exactly do you have against nerds Evans? Seriously, make Gunther gay or give it up-no woman in her right mind would want anything like this in her life and I have never met a nerd this “nerdy”. This is painful to watch.

Maria won’t care what suit he is in as long as he is at the party with her.

Since Gunther wears the same clothes (probably has several same shirt and pants or they are washed daily) and it is likely his mother bought his clothes so I am hazarding a guess he doesn’t know he is supposed to take his clothes off to try on the trunks.

Donny – I wish I had a log of how long ago and how many times you’ve complained about the demise of this strip, yet you keep coming back to this fishy restaurant and eating the foul carp. How fah-reaking lonely are you?

Multi-billionaires can get away with things most people cannot get away with^And this, too… =And to add to that, for every perceived Bill Gates or Steve Jobs, there is also one who isn’t as……successful.. yet… and for some, they never get as successful… not that everyone should aim to be the next “this or that”, but the point is, that not all go big time, and can lead fulfilling lives, just without a free x-box or iphone….

Exactly! AND, when Gunther isn’t worrying about what other people might think of his looks, and concentrates on designing clothes to improve the looks of others, he is much more relaxed and intelligent. That’s part of what Rosa sees

man those are some non-awesome trunks!!! Although they fit with Gunther’s lack of clothes sense. He, like a lot of nerds, likes predictability. It is so great he has a dear friend like Knute, and a hot gf like Rosa who will make a man out of him in a lot of ways. Meanwhile get some better trunks and show off those abs I bet you have Gunther.

Can’t believe what Knute picked out for Gunther…but, in retrospect, it doesn’t look all That bad. Take away the shirt and pants (especially the shirt), and it sort of suits him. Still, there are Lots of nice swim trunks out there…just have to have the patience to find them, Gunth! Just plain black or navy blue ones Without a pattern would be great. (And dump Knute…well, maybe not, Someone has to get you to even contemplate getting into bathing trunks)… ;)

Levi, you will be very disappointed if you want to learn about Jobs from the movie. It is more about the history of Apple. Read Isaacson’s book if you want to learn about Jobs.
