Good question. Neil’s incompetent and Claire’s rebellious and insolent. Most places I know wouldn’t put up with either of them, much less both of them. But this is a comic strip; it has its own logic.
Here, I was thinking it was because he felt so greasy… but I think Neil likes that feeling with how much he wears his uniform. :-s
