Being vegetarian is an ideology, which animals don’t have. Cows and deer will eat birds if they get the chance for another example I saw a video of a hippo eating a lion the excuse was he was too busy guarding his harem he needed the food. Mice will eat bones because their diet doesn’t contain much calcium.
I suppose the lion may have attacked him. A lion’s life is difficult after he has lost his pride.
